Short Bio

Gang Chen joined in Sun Yat-sen University as an associate professor in 2018. He received the B.E. degree in biomedical engineering, the B.S. degree in mathematics and applied mathematics, and the M.S. degree in control science and engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, in 2008, 2008, and 2011, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Technische Universität Müchen, Germany, in 2016. During 2016-2018, he was appointed as an associate professor in the department of computer science at Northeastern University. His research interests include robotics, AI, safety-critical system design, and embedded systems. He has more than 40 papers accepted by conferences/journals such as DAC, TC, TCAD, TII, RTSS, CODES+ISSS, EMSOFT, TECS, TODAES, MICPRO. He was the recipient of Best Paper/Candidates Awards at IEEE ESTIMedia 2013 and CODES+ISSS 2020. He is one of supervisors of TDT robotic team and won the first-prize and grand-prize in RoboMaster Robotic Competition 2017 and 2018, respectively; won the champion and outstanding performance award in ICRA 2017 DJI RoboMaster Mobile Manipulation Challenge.
